The Terrific (Bandarra) Street Orkestra

"Terrific" no és per dir que són dolentíssims, ben bé és tot al contrari: són bastant bons. Bandarra Street Orkestra porta el seu últim espectacle durant els dies de Halloween al Port Aventura, un parc temàtic a Catalunya. Els hi posen una mica de maquillatge de làtex, unes quantes rascades per aquí i per allí i una mica de colorant vermell que anirà regalimant al cap d'unes hores sota el sol encara calent d'octubre. He estat dos anys treballant fora, i cada cop que torno espero amb candeletes que tinguin algun bolo i així puc retrobar-me amb la meva família musical i escoltar la seva capacitat de transformar el que és una banda de carrer. Vaig estar actuant i fent fotos d'aquesta banda durant quatre anys, i ara que només en capturo moments i els veig un cop de tant en tant una es pot adonar de tot el que han estat treballant. Doncs aquí estic passant el dia amb la sorprenent banda de carrer. I sorprenents són, perquè mai saps què estan tramant per nous espectacles.

Terrific is not to say that they are really bad, it is actually the other way around: they are pretty good. Bandarra Street Orkestra is performing their last show these days for the Halloween event, in Port Aventura, a big theme park in Catalonia. They put up some latex make up, some scares here and there, and some red colouring that will drop down their faces with the sweat after a couple of hours under the hot october sun (yes, it is still hot here in Catalonia). I've been two years working abroad, and every time I come back, I hope they will have some gigs going on so I can see my musical family again and listen to their capability of transforming the idea of Street Band. I've been performing and taking pictures of them for 4 years, and now that I only take pictures and see them every once in a while, one can realise how hard have they been working. So here I am spending the day with the scary street band. And scary it is what I mean, in a good way, because you never know what they will come up with next.
